Russian Propaganda Posters

I’m subscribed to more design blogs than I think is probably healthy. One of the consistently good ones is You The Designer, tonight I just had an interesting post popup in my RSS feed that I just had to sample to death to see what came out the other side. They have the second part of a 2 part series on the design of propaganda posters, the first was on US ones, this second one on Russian or probably more accurately propaganda from the former soviet USSR.

It’s very clear what the predominant color as we all know is, red. The earthy tones and washed our blues are interesting though.
